Partnered with an systems analyst from Lexington KY, they provided a wide range of career opportunities available to those pursuing a CIS degree.
Nicole was asked about owning and running a business, ranges of salaries, and how design and functionality are imperative to website development. This was the second year, Nicole was invited to present to local area juniors, and was happy to see an increase in female students interested in IT careers.

Model Elementary Career Fair Day
On December 5, 2014, Nicole was also invited to present her field, Web & Graphic Design to the fourth and fifth grade classes. She briefly introduced what her job duties are, why companies need a website and what makes a great website, then the students were able to begin designing their own website, using Wix.com. Although the choices of such a free web builder are limited with what photos, themes and functional options are used, it was a perfect way to demonstrate some of the main components of a website.
The students had great ideas for their websites, from family trees to Do-It-Yourself website for girls, music bands, sports, animals, horse training, toys & video game reviews, and several Wildcat fan sites. The students were excited about it and many of them told they have continued working on their websites at home, and a few have even published them, with the permission of their parents. A week later, handmade thank you cards from the students were received and their kind words, appreciation and artwork will always be treasured.
