Local First Lexington is a non-profit alliance of locally owned, independently operated businesses, and their membership includes a directory listing, advertising possibilities, education, networking opportunities and mixers.
Formed in 2008, Local First Lexington is a non-profit business alliance of locally owned and independently operated Lexington businesses, their goal is to help keep Lexington an interesting, unique, and economically stable place to live and work. Local First Lexington engages Lexingtonians in educational opportunities and “Buy Local” activities designed to instill an understanding of the impact and benefits buying local. They also work to create the strongest network possible so local businesses can learn from one another, build their networks, and grow.
Who is local? Local First Lexington also works to promote local business in Fayette County and surrounding counties of Kentucky which include: Madison County, Bourbon County, Scott County, Woodford County, Jessamine County and Clark County.
Why become a member? “Times are changing and so are the values of the average consumer. People are becoming more interested in businesses who are both providing an excellent service and contributing to the betterment of their community. Becoming a business member of Local First Lexington will affirm to the community that you support their interest in our local economy.”
Why did we join? As it our mission at Startup Production to support and hire local, we felt their mission is greatly aligned with ours. We also feel that support of local organizations and networking are key to any business’ success.
